Middle East
We have traveled to the Middle East countries of Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, the West Bank, and Israel, to the West Bank and Israel many times as we volunteered at the Mar Elias Educational Institutions in the village of Ibillin, Israel, six different times for three months at a time. Our trip to Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, West Bank and Israel in 2009 included traveling all over Syria, including a special visit to the ancient city of Palmyra, many of whose building were later destroyed by ISIS. We also made a special trip to Petra while we were volunteering at the Mar Elias Educational Institutions for the school year 2012-2013.
